You Deserve to Feel Heard and Be Heard in a Non-Judgmental and Safe Space. I’m Here to Help.

I wear many hats professionally. I am a MD, MACP, Registered Psychotherapist (qualifying), a Clinical Researcher, a Project Management Professional, Professor at George Brown College, Former Instructor at UofT for over 14 years, former Professor at Humber College for over 5 years and a family oriented female.

My Background

From the very beginning of my education, I knew I loved to learn. Therefore, I began my career journey as an MD and an academic. I indulged in research because that was something that allowed me to get to know my clients and I enjoyed speaking to them about health and prevention. As a research professional, I am a published author of a few medical research publications featured in the most prestigious medical journals. My research has been published in the Journal of American College of Cardiology, International Diabetes Federation and the Journal of European Society of Cardiology.

Along my clinical research journey, I realized that I was approached by many individuals, couples and families with various mental health concerns who needed advocation for themselves or their loved ones. There seemed to be a lot of people who were suffering with mental health concerns in silence. This is when I decided to change my career path. I decided to pursue my Masters of Arts in Counselling and Psychology. I knew the science behind Psychotherapy and wanted to learn the art of Psychotherapy as there was such an immense need for growth in the number of mental healthcare providers.

My Approach & Philosophy

I believe in providing a non-judgmental and safe space for people to share. I am an electic practitioner. This means I am able to customize care for each of my clients because I understand everyone is unique and have unique circumstances.

I conduct my own mental health workshops which speak about stress management, relationship management, good communication skills and Applied Suicide Interventions Skills training (ASIST). ASIST is a very powerful workshop that allows for anybody who gets certified in it to be able to do suicide first aid. Just like CPR certification is common within our general public and communities, there is a need for suicide first aid to be common as well.

I have conducted the ASIST program at the University of Toronto, McMaster University, along with various corporate and educational institutes, along with school boards such as the Avon Maitland District School Board. I have also conducted the ASIST program at the Centre for Deen Studies and have delivered a workshop in spiritual counseling and mental health and well-being alongside Dr. Hamid Slimi. I also advocate for mental health as a consultant with the Canadian Mental Health Association where I also conduct ASIST workshops.

I have a number of years worth of work experience in mental health. I have taken care of clients in both the in-patient and out-patient settings. I have research experience in mental health as we screened and counselled for depression/anxiety in postpartum females and provided psychoeducation to them and their family members. Currently, I am working with adults, youth, couples and families work through their mental health challenges and provide them with empowerment and skills to improve and grow.

Psychotherapy is not a service only provided to people who have mental health problems. It is also used in promoting growth in individuals, couples, families and communities.

My aim is simple, I want to help build empowered communities through my compassion to educate and bring awareness to mental health to de-stimatize mental health concerns, so no one suffers in silence.

Growing up in a culture different from my own has allowed me to develop a multi-faceted understanding of culture.

My name is Paul André Bondoc. I am currently a Qualifying
Registered Psychotherapist (RP-Q). My biggest motivation for the
profession is the ability to aid people in living fulfilling lives. A
life without fulfillment or impediments to such can be an extremely
debilitating feeling. Furthermore, fulfillment can be different
depending on the person hence, everyone has their own narrative

My Background

Hello, my name is Paul! I use a trauma-informed integrative approach to therapy with clients. Specifically, I use parts work and integrate elements from Solution-Focused, Existential, and Experiential Therapy.

I am a 2nd-generation Filipino immigrant who grew up in both cultures so I have the lived experience and understand the nuanced upbringing that this brings. I will meet you where you are at and we’ll take things one step at a time.

I believe that understanding Mental Health takes courage. I hope to ensure that my clients will be enabled and empowered to grow and attain their goals. I practice the client-centred approach to therapy and creates a safe and non-judgmental space for his client. Innate uniqueness in the profession in this sense personally makes it ever so fascinating which is my biggest reason for pursuing counselling. I take more of a holistic approach.

Growing up in a culture different from my own has allowed me to develop a multi-faceted understanding of culture. Sessions will be spoken in English as that is my only language of fluency.

I believe that often we are unaware of the assumptions and beliefs that quietly shape our thoughts, actions, and environment.

I am passionate about helping individuals reach emotional and
mental wellness. My approach is centered on creating a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space for you to explore and process your experiences, emotions, thoughts, and beliefs.

I believe that often we are unaware of the assumptions and beliefs that quietly shape our thoughts, actions, and environment. These ingrained notions often operate beneath the surface of our consciousness, influencing how we perceive the world and interact with others. The consequences of holding unexamined beliefs can profoundly affect our mental health. When we cling to our old assumptions assumptions, we may experience persistent stress, anxiety, or frustration, as these beliefs can create internal conflicts and distort our self-image. By actively questioning and reassessing our beliefs, we can alleviate these mental burdens and cultivate a more flexible and resilient mindset, leading to a more fulfilling and joyful life.

My work is based on the foundation that we are often unaware of the assumptions and beliefs that quietly shape our thoughts, actions, and environment. These ingrained notions are frequently developed in childhood and often operate beneath the surface of our consciousness. They influence how we perceive ourselves, others, and the world, as well as how we interact with those around us.

This approach has roots going back to ancient Greece. The age-old statement, “The unexamined life is not worth living,” attributed to Socrates, reminds us that living an authentic life requires a conscious examination of our motivations, ideals, goals, and passions.

Holding onto unexamined and troublesome beliefs can profoundly impact our mental health. When we cling to outdated assumptions, we may experience persistent stress, anxiety, or frustration, as these beliefs can create internal conflicts and distort our self-image. By actively questioning and reassessing our beliefs, we can alleviate these mental burdens and cultivate a more flexible and resilient mindset, leading to a more fulfilling and joyful life.

My Background

I am passionate about helping individuals achieve emotional and mental wellness. My approach centers on creating a warm, safe, and non-judgmental space where you can explore and process your experiences, emotions, thoughts, and beliefs.

I specialize in a range of clinical issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, anger management, and relationship problems. Additionally, I address non-clinical issues such as life dissatisfaction, life transitions, identity, values, self-esteem, life skills, and career development.

My background includes providing short-term therapy within the community mental health field. This experience has honed my ability to identify the core issues underlying our daily struggles. I have found that short-term therapy, sometimes in as few as four sessions, can lead to significant improvements in overall functioning and well-being.

Through a combination of talk therapy and mindfulness practices, I help clients develop greater awareness of their inner experiences, build acceptance skills for difficult thoughts and emotions, and work toward responding to life’s challenges with increased openness and awareness. This process often leads to enhanced self-awareness, emotional resilience, increased confidence, healthier boundaries, and greater joy in life.
